We support tribal health systems in the urban centers and on the reservation. Through our trainings, technical assistance, and assistance with implementing evidence-based programming, we are able to innovate these systems to address the health inequities.
Our team has been critical in assisting tribal nations and communities in combating the pandemic. We have boots on the ground assisting tribal communities with: health informatics; emergency relief aid; screenings, testing, and vaccinations; and assisting some of the most vulnerable populations of indigenous communities.
Our Research & Innovation Division is responsible for working at a grassroots level with tribal communities in addressing health inequities through research. Our teams strive to develop new innovative measures that will address health inequities of the community. We conduct research with our partners in higher education institutions.
Indigenous Food Sovereignty means supporting tribal communities and families in regaining their traditional means of food and healthy lifestyles. We do this by sharing the knowledge with tribal people in person, online, video, or podcast. We also work with tribal communities in regaining their traditional seeds, harvesting practices, and gathering. This is done through our culturally congruent native team members.
We help our veterans and homeless populations through working with a developer and utilizing low-income housing tax credits and other funding sources to allow for permanent supportive housing and affordable housing options. If you would like to know more about how we can help this population in your community, please feel free to email us..
Our youth programs are geared at teaching youth traditional lifestyles regarding Food Sovereignty. We hold monthly gatherings that follow the traditional seasonal calendar. Traditional diets have been found to lower childhood obesity rates and Type II Diabetes. Our early childhood interventions include training tribal Headstarts in an evidence-based curriculum that addresses healthy diets and lifestyles.
Land Back initiative is a concentrated effort to work with tribal communities in acquiring their lands back for cultural and environmental conservation. We provide cultural education and conservation assistance once the land is acquired. MinoAki also accepts land donations that are utilized for conservation and educational purposes. If you would like to donate land please contact us through our email.
Your contribution will enable us to support our mission of improving health inequities in Indian Country. We are very grateful for your generosity.
